 Following five days at sea, the 30m super yacht ICAP Leopard is focused and determined to beat the transatlantic speed record after setting off from New York to reach Lizard Point in Cornwall.In an attempt to break the record, the super yacht and its crew are required to cross the finishing line before 1.37pm on Saturday June 5th.
Super yacht ICAP Leopard is set to conquer the current speed of 6 days, 17 hours and 52 minutes, held by Super yacht Mari Cha IV.

 A sparkle of hope is expected for Wisconsin's yacht building industry, which has lost hundreds of jobs during the economic downturn. Carver and Marquis yachts, of Pulaski say they expect to step up yacht production this winter. Cruisers Yachts, located in Oconto, said they have recalled nearly 100 of their employees from layoff.
And Burger Boat Co., in Manitowoc, said it has also recalled a few employees from layoff, and yacht sales prospects have improved significantly. There's "protected optimism" in the marine industry, says Burger Boat's VP of sales and Marketing, Ron Cleveringa.

 The 50th annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show brought fourth a variety of news, business announcements an product releases.
Crew report at the end of the show day that although public attendance seemed somewhat light, they showed vessels to qualifying buyers, often two or three times. An improvised survey on the docks revealed that two thirds of yachts were headed straight from the show to a South Florida shipyard or marina.

 A New Zealander was getting ready to skipper a yacht in an international race when the yacht and crew was suddenly seized by Iranian authorities in territorial waters.
Five British sailors on board Sail Bahrain's Kingdom of Bahrain were delayed when it was stopped by Navy vessels last Wednesday.

 The Kiwis have arranged for a special one day super yacht race for sailing and motor yachts in conjunction with the Louis Vuitton World Series in Auckland, set to take place in March 2010
As the Louis Vuitton World Series is scheduled to head to Auckland in March 2010, the New Zealand marine industry association, is inviting super yacht owners and their crew to enjoy a unique Kiwi experience before watching the intense Louis Vuitton racing.
