In November of 1981 actress Natalie Wood drowned in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Catalina Island, California. The celebrities unfortunate drowning is one of Hollywood's most ongoing mysteries. Despite the her death being ruled an accident, and the sheriff confirms the case is closed, others report there are many things about this ruling that doesn't make sense.
The stars sister, Lana Wood, also the captain of the yacht Natalie Wood sailed with her husband, actor Robert Wagner, are requesting that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office re-open the case, although authorities have yet to respond to the request.

Super yacht captains will never be ultra-wealthy as the yacht owners their employed by, although the lifestyle certainly makes up for it, often times rubbing shoulders with some of the worlds rich and famous and spending the majority of the year sailing through some of the world's most magnificent ports of venue.
On top of that, they average a six-figure salary for the pleasure of residing on an exclusive yacht with all the latest amenities -- cinema, helicopter and a swimming pool, those come as standard. So it understandable how some people would consider being the captain of a super yacht to be one of the greatest jobs in the world.

The RYA has chosen the Yacht master of the Year for 2009. HRH The Princess Royal was also attending to present the award to Alexander Tilleray from Esher, Surrey during the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show.
27 year old Alex, was selected for the top award even though fierce competition from nealry 2,800 Yacht master candidates globally who qualified last year. Alex proceeded with his Yacht master exam on February 20, 2009 passing with outstanding scores.

Funeral services for one of the Treasure Coast's most respected yacht captain, Karam John Haddad, Jr., 85, has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Haddad, who was captain of the famed Chanticleer for Ralph Evinrude and Frances Langford for over 50 years, passed away on Christmas Eve in Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.
"He was a man of amazing spirit and he applied a work ethic that was unparalleled," said Bruce Wallace a neighbor of Haddad for 32 years. "He had so many wonderful life experiences as captain of the old and the new Chanticleer. He sailed the Atlantic Ocean and went into the Mediterranean Sea. He rubbed elbows with the rich and famous but none of it he took for granted. He was just a fine likeable man who loved his family."

A Sea captain who spent nearly 50 years travelling the world has been recognised for his services to merchant shipping.
On Monday, at a ceremony in London, Captain Nicholas Cooper, age 67, was presented with the Merchant Navy Medal, which is only given to 15 people each year out of 40,000 seafarers.
