One of the world's most luxurious private yachts, the 126-metre-long mega-yacht called "Octopus" was recently reported to have made an unexpected appearance in the High Arctic hamlet of Pond Inlet, Nunavut, on its way through the Northwest Passage.
The yacht was said to have been anchored for five days last week offshore from Pond Inlet, a remote community on the northern tip of Baffin Island.

A luxury yacht that had recently washed ashore in Redington with no one aboard and its engines running is finally back in the water. According to bobcat operator Charles Rice, "it took a tractor-trailer tied to a Bobcat, a tugboat, and nearly a half-hour of maneuvering to free the yacht from the sand overnight.
"Luckily the weather was in our favor so, by the seas getting rough, and with the yacht being able to bounce up and down we were able to get it off."

According to the the U.S. Coast Guard, they will suspend the search for a possible missing boater after an empty yacht mysteriously washed ashore near Madeira Beach, Florida. The search and rescue mission was suspended Wednesday evening, according to Coast Guard officials.
The empty 48-foot yacht washed ashore approximately 1 p.m. on Wednesday, generating a police investigation and a Coast Guard rescue operation.
