Spring is right around the corner along with the annual Emerald Coast Beach Volleyball Week. This year the festivities kick off on Wednesday April 21st and run through Sunday April 25th on the beach behind the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
The Emerald Coast Beach Volleyball Week attracts thousands of beach volleyball competitors and spectators to the Fort Walton Beach and Destin area annually to have some fun in the sun. As tradition, beach volleyball tournament formats will include Fudpucker 4 Player, Bring Your Own Partner, King/Queen/Kid of the Beach and Double Draw with competitors for cash prizes, apparel and merchandise.

Three time Olympian champion Joshua Slack will join a star line-up for the upcoming Virgin Blue Regional Beach Volleyball Series held in Bendigo.
The star player, who represented Australia at the Sydney, Athens and Beijing Olympic beach volleyball games will team up with new partner Brett Richardson for the Bendigo sports series taking place on December 11th to 13th.

The Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the National Olympic Committee of Italy (CONI) and the Italian Volleyball Federation are excited to announce that the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships will take place in the Italian capital of Rome held on June 17-26.
The eighth edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, will award a total prize money of US$1 million and will be held in the famed sports complex -- the Foro Italico, located next to the 1960 Olympic Stadium.

The average beach volleyball sports fan may not recognize the name "Holly McPeak." But after one look at her sports volleyball resume - the Olympic performance global domination on the beach scene, the NCAA title - and there's no doubting her position on volleyball's Mount Rushmore.
McPeak officially takes her position amongst beach volleyball's finest on Oct. 30, when she'll be inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame.

The U.S. beach volleyball team of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers won gold while Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh settled for silver on Sunday at the AVP World beach volleyball Challenge: USA vs. Brazil presented by Sanderson Ford in Glendale, Ariz. The United States defeated Brazil in the Country beach volleyball Challenge, 26-22.
In the women's beach volleyball bracket, Brazil's Juliana Felisberta and Larissa Franca defeated May-Treanor (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Walsh (Saratoga, Calif.), 21-11, 21-16 in the 43 minutes in the gold medal match after losing to them in Saturday night's final round of pool play.
