 Competing in the beach volleyball Men's A Division was Montclair's Andrew Brown and partner Brett Scarmazzo of Elmwood Park who won the Corona Light Wide Open beach volleyball stop at Long Beach, N.Y., on Saturday.
The Corona beach volleyball tour is part of the US Open of Beach Volleyball and travels across the nation, making 10 stops until heading out to Manhattan Beach, Calif., on September 24th, 25th and 26th for the beach volleyball tournament finals.

 Two-time US Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will travel to Moscow as a sports envoy to conduct beach volleyball clinics under an exchange with Russia, the State Department said Wednesday. May-Treanor will conduct beach volleyball clinics for American and Russian youth participating in an exchange program in Russia from August 6 to August 21, the State Department said.
She will join the US delegation of 10 boys and 10 girls, ages 14 to 18 years old, for part of the Moscow program from August 9-10, it said. May-Treanor will also attend a dinner in Moscow hosted by the Russian Volleyball Federation and the Russian Ministry of Sport, Tourism, and Youth Policy.

 Gstaad, Switzerland is set to host the 2010 Swatch FIVB Grand Slam Beach Volleyball tournament. The women's semi-finals will kick off on Saturday July 10, 2010. Four remaining teams are set to battle it out in the semi-finals of the Women's 1to1 Energy Grand Slam with no major upsets to be found--all were seeded in the top 6 for the volleyball tournament.
The first volleyball match will include two Brazilian pairs, who will face off across the net for a spot at the title, automatically securing the country a berth in the finals.

 The month of June has been an exciting month for Costa Mesa resident April Ross. Ross and Jennifer Kessy secured their third consecutive Assn. of Beach Volleyball Professionals tournament this month with a 21-16, 21-13 win against Rachel Scott and Elaine Youngs in Sunday's beach volleyball final of the AVP Nivea Tour Belmar Open in New Jersey.
This volleyball tournament marked the first time Ross and Kessy were the No. 1-seeded team. Although things didn't come so easy for the pair.
