Curvelle yacht builder currently leads the market in energy saving having been the first Super yacht builder to purchase the carbon offset credits for the construction and design of the 33X9 Super yacht catamaran which utilizes 30% less fuel as opposed to other motoryachts offering similar sized accommodations.
Curvelle yacht builders intends to take the concept a step further in its next generation of yachts as managing Director, Luuk van Zanten explained, "We are making enormous efforts to produce yachts that are less hazardous to the environment during both the building process and their ultimate use on water. We see future owners of large vessels being more responsive than ever before to fuel efficiency and enthusiastic to be seen to be as environmentally aware as possible. Our 33X9 Catamaran, which we will initiate the building of this year and provides the ability to cross oceans using far less fuel than in comparison to a conventional hull. Our next yacht offers a different target market, not as fast but with the eco advantages of joint solar and diesel power providing the ability to run silently for several hours per day using solar power alone." The new yacht design will be launched at the World Energy Summit and later during the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show in February.
