container-ship-falling-over1TRG Marine has just recently improved the online application process for Marine Cargo Insurance Annual Policies. The new insurance application is currently available on TRG Marine's website, and interested parties are able to acquire a marine insurance quote by simply completing the easy 5-10 minute questionnaire form.

Marine Insurance ( known as Cargo Insurance) covers the damage, theft or loss of commodities while in transit. TRG Marine has provided cargo insurance since 1991 on an annual policy basis. Companies involved in international trade approach Surety Agents like TRG Marine to evaluate and compare their insurance needs.

TRG Marine feels that with this online enhanced application, companies will seamlessly apply for a quote enabling them to quickly compare rates with that of their current insurance provider. As with any type of insurance quote, a questionnaire must be completed in order for the Surety to calculate the risk of underwriting the policy. The insurance quote is therefore given based upon this assessment. With a normal annual marine insurance policy, the non-refundable, pre-paid minimum deposit is based upon information provided by the importer on the Marine Insurance application questionnaire. The underwriter calculates a rate per hundred dollar as well as a pre-paid, minimum insurance deposit. It is very important that the information on the application is correct and complete, including the countries of origin/destination and the items to be insured. The minimum earned deposit premium is calculated on a percentage of the total anticipated annual insurance premium. However, only the underwriter can quote a company's actual prepaid minimum deposit, many markets set a minimum for what they will offer.

Questions normally asked when applying for a marine insurance quote include:

Number of years the company has been engaged in international trade.

The items for which the insurance would cover.

Countries of origin for international marine insurance policies.

Types of transportation that will be used.

The value of the commodities being transported.

TRG Marine's online insurance application incorporates all the these questions and more in a short 10-15 minute questionnaire. Designed for simplicity, once the insurance application is completed, the form is available for the applicant to review, print, and sign. After faxing or emailing in the application, TRG Marine then transfers the collected information to its markets to obtain the most competitive quote available. "Given the economy and the soft Marine Insurance market, now is the perfect time for the insured to take a few minutes to compare rates as well as determine if the current coverage is meeting their specific needs," said Valerie Sarich, TRG Marine Manager. "Our enhanced online form now makes it even easier for this to be done.
