The Bassmaster Elite Series tournament, "Duel in the Delta," should produce some exciting weigh-ins at the Weber Point Event Center in downtown Stockton, with the lucky fish tournament winner reeling in the $100,000 top prize.
Weigh-ins are set to begin at 3:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday for the fish tournament's 93 professional fishermen including top active black bass angler worldwide, Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich., a winner of five BASS Angler of the Year awards and three Bassmaster Classics.

In reference to all the dietary supplements, fish oil has acquired an unparalleled status. In comparison to fad drugs that come and go, fish oil capsules have steadily grown in popularity. In a February Consumer Lab poll, people report the use of fish oil more than any other standard multivitamin pill.
However, a lawsuit reportedly filed on Tuesday says there's also a dark side to the fish oil supplements that most consumers are unaware of: many of them hosting dangerously high levels of PCBs, a chemical linked to several types of cancer as well as birth defects.

Due to expected rough sea conditions on Sunday Jim Zupanicic had not much interest in going on a fishing venture, although his neighbor was insistent they go. Zupancic's selflessness paid off, as the mornings conditions resulted in only 2-3 feet, and Zupancic and his guests caught a 183-pound yellowfin tuna.
"I had never caught a tuna fish before," said Zupancic, of Deerfield Beach, who was unable to identify the fish species until it came alongside his boat following a 45-minute battle. Zupancic, Kurt Otten, brother Joe and their father, Harold destined for the Boca Inlet.
