Several of South Florida's luxury hotels are becoming more inclusive versus exclusive as they try to enhance their bottom lines with continued business from local residents. According to industry experts, many hotels are now actively marketing affordable event packages and upscale personal services.

Substantial spa and restaurant discounts are being offered to attract nearby residents to use hotels as social hot spots. "We are relentlessly tapping this market now," says Michelle Payer, the Ritz-Carlton Hotels area director of public relations for Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

In addition to being a successful musician and novelist, Jimmy Buffett has also managed to shape a massive business in accordance to several of his world renowned songs.

There is an entire chain of Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants and Margaritaville cafes in various spots such as: Las Vegas, New Orleans, and several Florida resort towns in addition to a beer line made by Anheuser-Busch, a tequila made by Seagram, drink blenders, branded clothing and much more, reportedly generating nearly $40 million a year.
