People in the Louisiana seafood industry are concerned of the continued diminishing supplies caused by a steep drop-off in the amount of commercial fishing. With the majority of fishermen now working for BP on the oil spill cleanup effort, officials claim that many safe fishing areas aren't being used, as a result, is beginning to effect local restaurants.
Over the weekend, in one French Quarter restaurant, chefs cooked up orders of char-grilled oysters while customers enjoyed a wide range of seafood dishes. But the restaurant's general manager is worried about his long term supplies.

The Hump, one of the most highly-recognized sushi restaurants in Santa Monica, is now under federal investigation, after investigators claiming restaurants chef was selling banned whale meat to audacious diners seeking something a bit more exotic.
Armed with a search warrant on Friday, Federal Authorities proceeded to collect evidence from the restaurant, including marine mammal parts and various documents and records. The attempted sale or possession of marine mammals is a violation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act and can lead to a year in prison along with a $20,000 fine.
