The United Kingdom, Japan and France had the highest-gross in opening days internationally, with each territory pulling over $1 million.
Reviews for the Kenny Ortega-directed film have been pretty solid across the board, and late entertainment artist Jackson is sure to win over the weekend. Although the entertainment film has been a sort of wild card gamble when it comes to its box office pre-released predictions. All anyone at this point has to compare to is the February 2008 entertainment concert film Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, which pulled in $31 million on its opening weekend. Cyrus' appeal is basically limited to the U.S. Although the entertainment film was a success earning $65 million domestically, it only actually grossed $5 million overseas. This Is It's domestic alone should top the $40 million mark for its first five days. How high it the entertainment film will soar depends greatly upon its need-to-see draw and fans' ability to get to the theater during a busy Halloween weekend.
