The third annual Martha's Vineyard Food & Wine Festival will be held from October 16 - 18, 2009 in Edgartown, Massachusetts.
During this food and entertainment celebration, leading Chefs such as Stefan Richter will work their culinary magic for guests offering the best, locally sourced freshest of food including seafood, produce, and meats, while Vintners offer the finest wine samplings from around the world.

Baja California wineries and gourmet food establishments will be featured in this year's Southern California's largest food and wine entertainment event, the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival. The entertainment festivities will take place from November 18th through the 22nd, along the admirable seaport area near the San Diego Convention Center and the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel.
The Baja California pavilion will host an array of Mexico's best wine, beer, spirits and gourmet cuisine.

Asia's biggest hospitality event began in downtown Bangkok on Wednesday as thousands of professionals from around the world have come to join the exhibitions, seminars and contests here in next four days.
According to Thai Hotels Association, the co-organizer, Food & Hotel Thailand 2009 attracts 756 brands from around the world to participate in the food exhibition, which features a wide range of products and services from food, beverage, bakeries, seasonings, wine to glassware, kitchenware, and retail and hotel equipment as well as software.

Trader Joe's received an F rating on Greenpeace's seafood sustainability scorecard last year and unfortunately, held tight to its F for 2009 - despite the fact that over half of the other food markets improved their fishy ratings. The organic friendly, budget-friendly food market consistently scores lower than Target and Wal-Mart when it comes to sustainable sea food!
Greenpeace scored food markets on their fish purchasing policies (read the report here: http://go.greenpeaceusa.org/seafood/scorecards/scorecard-top20.pdf) , checking to see if any endangered "red list" fish food- like orange roughy, swordfish and Chilean sea bass - were still being sold and whether or not sustainable sea food policies and procedures were implemented.

Consider the sardine: High in healthful omega-3 fatty acids, and are abundant once again in the chilly waters of Monterey Bay, it may be the perfect food for our times. Sardines are one of the few species that environmentally conscious diners can eat without guilt or serious damage to their pockets.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program gives them the go ahead as a best choice for sustainability. The entertainment for most Americans is how delightful sardines can be when it's prepared fresh. If your only experience with this food has been mushy, oily fillets out of a can, you're in for a treat.
