Opening entertainment ceremonies were held on Monday, July 29, 2009 for a new $336 million casino boat in southeastern Indiana. The new Hollywood Entertainment Casino located in Lawrenceburg opened up to its first gambler guests on Thursday, replacing the 13-year-old Argosy Casino.
The new entertainment boat is over twice the size of original and has approximately 4,400 gambling positions, which Pennsylvania-based entertainment owner Penn National Gaming says is the most of any riverboat casinos in the country.
The entertainment casino is less than two miles from a bridge connecting to Cincinnati's Kentucky suburbs and has been under construction for the past two years. The Lawrenceburg entertainment casino and the Horseshoe entertainment casino along Lake Michigan in Hammond have been Indiana's busiest entertainment riverboats.
